Fractile
An AI-infrastructure company building hardware for high-performance inference.
The Company
Fractile is developing inference hardware that aims to address the movement of data between memory and compute, an important cost and latency bottleneck for deployed AI models. The company was founded in 2022 and is focused on inference rather than competing directly as a model developer.
Fractile announced a $220 million financing in May 2026. Bloomberg later reported that the company was in discussions for a new round at a $6.5 billion pre-money valuation; because no completed transaction was announced, that figure is kept separate from confirmed financing.
Why It Matters
Inference economics increasingly determine whether AI applications can scale profitably. Fractile is a high-risk, high-upside attempt to build a new hardware layer beneath that market, making product benchmarks and customer deployments more important than private-market headlines.
