XDOF
Robotics-data infrastructure using teleoperation, collection and annotation systems.
The Company
XDOF builds data pipelines, collection tools and annotation systems for training general-purpose robots. Its founders, UC Berkeley researchers Philipp Wu and Fred Shentu, developed the GELLO teleoperation system for generating robot-training data.
TechCrunch reported a $70M Series A in June 2026 and said annualized revenue was approaching $50M with 20 customers, including frontier AI labs. It separately reported that a Series B at about $1.2B was under discussion, not final.
Why It Matters
Robotics needs real-world training data that the internet cannot supply. XDOF is positioned as a data-supply-chain provider for physical AI, where collection quality and operational scale may be more valuable than a single robot product.
